1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials. We use Clerk for authentication, and your credentials are managed securely by their platform.

1.2 API Keys

If you provide API keys for AI providers (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok), these keys are encrypted using AES-256-GCM encryption before being stored. We operate on a zero-knowledge basis - we cannot access your plaintext API keys.

1.3 Conversation Data

Your conversations with AI models are stored locally on your device by default. If you opt into cloud sync, conversation data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

1.4 Usage Data

We collect anonymized usage data including page views, feature usage, and error reports to improve our service. This data does not include conversation content.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Conteqx service
  • To process your API requests to third-party AI providers
  • To send you service-related communications (account updates, security alerts)
  • To respond to your support requests
  • To detect, prevent, and address technical issues and abuse

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We share data only in these circumstances:

  • AI Providers: Your messages are sent directly to the AI provider you select (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI) using your own API keys. Each provider has their own privacy policy.
  • Service Providers: We use trusted third parties for authentication (Clerk), payment processing (Stripe), and hosting (cloud infrastructure providers).
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental regulation.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

  • AES-256-GCM encryption for API keys and sensitive data
  • TLS 1.3 for all data in transit
  • Zero-knowledge architecture for API key management
  • Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
  • Strict access controls with principle of least privilege

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Conversation data stored locally is managed entirely by you. Cloud-synced data can be deleted at any time through your account settings. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data
  • Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format
